Welcome Note and Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

It is a special pleasure and honor to officially invite you to participate in the Microscopy Conference 2015 (MC 2015). It will be held at the Georg-August University Göttingen, Germany, from September 6-11, 2015 and organized by the German Society for Electron Microscopy e. V. (DGE) following the great success of the MC 2009 in Graz, the MC 2011 in Kiel and the MC 2013 in Regensburg. The conference aims at highlighting new developments in instrumentation, methods as well as outstanding results in materials science and life science. A focused session on ‘Dynamic microscopy of energy conversion processes’ will be organized by the Cooperative Research Center 1073, ‘Atomic scale control of energy conversion’. We are confident that at least 900 participants from all over Europe and overseas will attend the conference and contribute to the success of the conference. The scientific program will consist of plenary talks on important current topics. Latest developments in the fields of instrumentation & methods, materials science and life science will be highlighted by invited talks as well as contributed oral and poster presentations.
The venue of the conference is the main campus of the Georg-August-University Göttingen, in the center of Germany. As on previous conferences, the MC 2015 will host a large trade exhibition, which aims to show the latest equipment from the manufacturers of all different kinds of microscopy and microscopy techniques, as well as suppliers of accessories and consumables, preparation tools, image analysis systems, and all important publishers in the field. The exhibition area on the central campus of the Georg-August-University Göttingen is surrounded by the lecture halls making the exhibition an integral part of the Conference. This will help the MC 2015 to become a comprehensive source of information for anybody interested in microscopy, in physical, materials or life science.
